IMSA LMP3 Champion McCusker Joins Inter Europol For 2020 ELMS
Inter Europol Competition has added 2019 IMSA Prototype Challenge Champion Austin McCusker to the driving squad of their #13 Ligier JS P320 for the 2020 Europen Le Mans Series.
McCusker (pictured above with the 47 Motorsports Norma) will join 2019 duo Martin Hippe and Nigel Moore in the team’s new Ligier as they look to secure the class title and a Le Mans entry, in the first season of the new LMP3 cars.
McCusker has been speaking to a number of European teams about his 2020 programme and was seen in the paddock and press room at the 2019 Spa round of the ELMS.
Austin McCusker: “I’m thrilled to announce that I will be joining Inter Europol Competition for the 2020 ELMS season. They have proven to be one of the top LMP3 teams in the ELMS and I believe that they will give me the best opportunity to challenge for race wins and the championship in 2020. This will be my first full season racing in Europe, so there will be a lot to get used to in a short amount of time but I am up for the challenge.”
Sascha Fassbender, Team Manager: “We are very happy to welcome Austin McCusker in our team. With these three drivers in one car, we are sure we can go for the win in the European Le Mans Series 2020 in the LMP3 class.”
